Admission to the Harvard Business School

Hello! Jennie here once again and in this video I will discuss the admissions process to the Harvard Business School in Boston, Massachusetts.

It’s very important to note that all applications to the Harvard Business School can only  be submitted and processed online. They are not accepted by regular mail.




MBA Admissions:
Applicants will be required to fill their details in the “Introduce Yourself” page on the Harvard Business School website. Based on this information, they will send them additional information relevant to their interests which include invitations to MBA Admission Events in their area. After submission of the online application, it will be reviewed and if the applicant is qualified to be considered for admission process, an interview invitation will be sent.

Interviews are conducted upon invitation only and they may be held on campus or over the phone or in domestic or international hub cities. Only one application can be submitted per year. The requirements include a degree program at an accredited U.S. four year undergraduate college, university or its equivalent.

In addition, a GMAT or GRE is a prerequisite for the admission. For those international students who had attended a non-English-speaking undergraduate university, a TOEFL IBT or IELTS score is required.

Executive Education Program Admissions:
No formal education is required for admission but professionals who had already demonstrated business talent and leadership potential are preferred. Admissions to Executive Education program is a selective process which is based on professional achievement and organizational responsibility.

Doctoral Program Admissions:
Students with well-defined research interests, excellent academic records and exemplary letters of recommendation are preferred. Master’s degree or work experience is not a requirement.

In general, the Harvard Business School looks out for candidates who exhibit leadership potential, capacity for intellectual growth and possess the drive to make a difference to the community. They target students who represent a wide range of interests, perspectives and experiences which are very well reflected by their highly diverse body of students.

Every year, students from more than 70 countries from a wide range of backgrounds graduate from Harvard Business School. Their backgrounds range from professional sports, military, medicine, consulting, investment banking and so on.
