The Harvard Business School has been recognized as one among the top business schools for a very long time. It has been the gold standard to which other educational schools are often being compared. They adopt a learning process called the case method which is an interactive approach to business study while adding reality to the classroom sessions.

The faculties at the Harvard Business School work with many organizations performing research and writing several new cases each year thereby ensuing that the curriculum developed remains up to date. It is a fact that almost 80% of the cases which are used for case study in other business schools are written by these faculties from Harvard Business School.

The Harvard Business School is located at Soldiers Field, Boston, Massachusetts. The Harvard Business School was founded in 1908. It was started with 59 students. In the year 1920, the case method of research and teaching was innovated. During the decade, it ramped up the class size which was about 500 students.

In the year 1926, the school moved from its earlier location in the Cambridge side of the Charles River to it’s present location at Allston, Boston. In the year 1965, women students were first admitted to their regular two-year Master in Business Administration program.

The programs offered at the Harvard Business School are: MBA Programs, Executive Education and Doctoral Programs.

- The main focus of the MBA program is on general management skills. The same course of study is provided for all students during their first year of this program. The curriculum consists of Finance, Financial Reporting, Technology and Operations Management, Marketing, Strategy, Business Economy and Negotiation.

They offer a wide range of curriculum during the second year of the program which spans all the aspects of business and the students have an option to choose one among them.

The Executive Education Program involves an intensive interactive learning experience which uses the case method. In addition, it also has mixing lectures with team projects, group dynamics and presentations. The programs include Financial Management, General Management, Technology and Operations Management, Strategy Marketing, Personal Development, Social Enterprise etc.

Doctoral Programs aim to prepare students to develop their careers as professors of management. The doctoral program has its first two years to be spent on course work and two more years on their dissertation. The programs include Business Economics, Accounting and Control, Health Policy, Marketing, Information Technology and Management, Organizational Behavior, Strategy, Policy and Management etc.
