The Pennsylvania School of Business (PSB), once known as the Information Computer Systems Institute (ICSI), is a freestanding institution of higher education specializing in the areas of information technology, medical billing and coding, and business. With programs ranging from 1 to 6 semesters in length, students can attain any of 4 Associate in Specialized Business Degrees or 4 specialized Diplomas.
The downtown Allentown institution began in 1980, gained its state license from the Pennsylvania State Board of Private Business Schools in 1981, and gained accreditation from the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology in 1984. In 2005, the school further expanded its curriculum and changed its name to Pennsylvania School of Business.

The program requires a total of 77 credit hours, which can be spread over 75 weeks, or 5 semesters, of fulltime daytime classes, or 105 weeks, or 7 semesters, of fulltime evening classes. Graduates are prepared for entry-level IT jobs such as PC Software Specialist, Web Designer, or Computer Repair Technician.
Like the PC Administration program, the Networking Technology degree provides plenty of first-hand experience with technologies. While the core tasks are similar, the Networking Technology program is more extensive, requiring 92 credit hours. Those taking full-time daytime classes will be in school for 90 weeks, or 6 semesters, while those opting for full-time evening courses will take 120 weeks, or 8 semesters, to complete their degrees.
The Business Administration program mixes classroom instruction with genuine workplace experience. Students are given opportunities to interact with up-to-date technologies and to demonstrate their emerging skills through group projects, case studies, multi-media presentations, and learning labs. Graduates are ready to go to work as office managers, customer service representatives, sale associates, or book keepers. Full-time day students can expect to spread their 82 credit hours over 75 weeks, or 5 semesters, while evening students will take 105 weeks, or 7 semesters, to complete program requirements.
The Medical Billing and Coding program includes both classroom lectures and experience. Some topics that require mastery include anatomy and physiology, coding, billing, and medical terminology. Program graduates can work in hospitals, doctors’ offices, clinics, and insurance companies. The 95 required credit hours take daytime students 90 weeks, or 6 semesters, and evening students 120 weeks, or 8 semesters, to complete.
