Regis University College for Professional Studies

The Regis University College for Professional Studies (CPS) offers a collection of degrees specifically designed for today’s competitive job market. While on-campus or blended options are available, the programs of study are particularly well-suited to adult learners who require remote learning opportunities. Between its classrooms located across its 7 Colorado and Nevada campuses the CPS serves nearly 4,000 adult learners each year, in addition to an estimated 6,000 more students through its online venue. Many classes are formatted in 5- or 8-week segments.

The school’s main campus has been located in Denver, Colorado, amid the scenic Rocky Mountains since 1887, 10 years after its founding as Las Vegas College in New Mexico. Founded by Jesuit missionaries, the school became known as Sacred Heart College until 1921, when it was renamed as Regis College to commemorate the seventeenth-century Jesuit missionary St. John Francis Regis. Since 1991, the institution has been known as Regis University, consisting of 3 distinct academic colleges: Regis College (for liberal arts and pre-professional study), Rueckert-Hartman College for Health Professions, and the College for Professional Studies. One benefit of the University’s Jesuit tradition is its commitment to supporting students in maintaining the all-important balance of work, school, and family.

The bachelor’s degrees offered include a B.A. in Organizational Development as well as B.S. degrees in the following areas:

• Accounting
• Business Administration
• Finance
• Human Resource Management
• Marketing
• Public Administration

Undergraduate certificates are also offered in the areas of High Performance Management, Leadership, Project Management, and Public Administration.

The online degree programs of the CPS have been ranked among the top 25 online colleges in 2011, and its online MBA program, in particular, has earned a place among the top 25 programs of its type, as well. The MBA program uses computer simulations to help students navigate the many aspects of a virtual company’s 3-year business cycle. Both the Regis MBA and the M.S. in Organizational Leadership (MSOL) give students strong foundations in business management and leadership training, while offering distinct focuses. Another distinct MBA program utilizes a partnership with a Jesuit school in Guadalajara, Mexico, in order to provide a bi-lingual MBA with a specialization in Emerging Markets.

Students who desire to attain both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the CPS can work on both degrees, in tandem, with 2 or 3 classes counting toward both degrees. A popular option involves both the School of Computer & Information Sciences and the School of Management, in order to coordinate a B.S. in Business Technology Management with one of these 3 Master’s degrees:

• M.S. in Information Technology Management (155 credit hours for both degrees)
• MBA (158 credit hours for both degrees)
• M.S. in Organizational Leadership (152 credit hours for both degrees)

For a thorough presentation about the programs offered by the Regis University CPS, prospective students can attend on-site informational sessions or webinars, both of which are offered on a monthly basis.
